S.A.V.E. is a gatekeeper training program provided by VA suicide prevention coordinators to all community partners and members who are interested in learning more about the recognition, assessment, and management of at-risk behavior, and the delivery of effective clinical care for people with suicide risk. This training is practical for services providers of all populations. The training is interactive therefore registrants are required to have cameras on and to participate. Participants will receive 1.5 Social Work CEU’s. Instructor: Brooke Prince-Slocum, LCSW, MSW, Cincinnati VA Medical Center. Brooke has practiced Social Work since 1999 and received her MSW from California State University, San Bernardino in 2005. She has been employed at the Cincinnati VA as the Coordinated Entry Specialist in the Community Outreach Division since 2019 where she collaborates with multiple communities in Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio to address veteran homelessness. With this role, she provides SAVE Suicide Prevention training to Veteran and Non-Veteran organizations. Prior to her employment at the Cincinnati VA, she has worked as a Social Worker at Louisville VA and Loma Linda VA since 2014 to provide various services for Veterans.
