Description/Special Instructions: The LGBTQ cultural humility training builds a foundation of basic concepts for participants with an interactive portion, provides “dos and don’ts,” and a brief overview of special considerations when working with LGBTQ folks. Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board CEU’s will be provided. Space is limited therefore please contact lellis-mazzaro@end-homelessness.org if you need to cancel registration. Trainers Bio: Zoey Peach is a health educator at Caracole with a focus on rural health and the Trans population. She is a 2016 graduate of Transylvania University with a degree in women’s and gender studies. Zoey has been working in the field of HIV prevention for six years in various community settings. Prior to her work in HIV prevention, her efforts were focused on providing safe and inclusive school environments for LGBTQ youth. Ariel Shaw is a health educator with Caracole. She is a 2020 graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a bachelor’s in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Ariel has worked in the health education field for a little over a year. She spends her time working with her colleagues to provide HIV-related services, such as HIV/HCV testing, resources, and education in the community. Much of her work centers around making sure trans people within Cincinnati have access to the care they need and providing them with the tools to advocate for themselves.
