Description/Special Instructions: Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board CEU will be provided. In this training you will learn how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and administer the opioid overdose reversal drug Naloxone. What You Will Learn • Recognize the signs of an opioid overdose • Demonstrate how to administer the opioid overdose reversal drug naloxone • Discuss the role of harm reduction in the overall opioid public health crisis solutions / action plan / strategy • List a minimum of three overdose prevention Instructors Rashida Pearson, M.Ed, Harm Reduction Services Coordinator at Caracole Inc. As a HRSC, we provides assertive, community based interventions for high risk HIV- and HIV+ individuals who use drugs (PWUDs) in SW Ohio, N Kentucky, and SE Indiana. Provide outreach, HIV testing, education, and intervention services directly to individuals at risk for contracting HIV. Link clients to resources, testing and education; facilitate access to medical care and medications, drug and/or alcohol treatment, syringe exchange programs, and holistic care resources; provide advocacy and psychosocial interventions. Other areas of expertise consist of the following: • Mental Health Professional specializing in working with Transitional Youth (Young adults) – Ages 16-24 • Knowledgeable in community resources, such as housing, homelessness, HIV education/prevention, LGBTQ, mental health, as well as legal and food assistance • Community Advocate for Transitional Youth, Human Trafficking, Learning Disabilities, Medical Cannabis Caregiver, Housing and Domestic Violence Rights.
