Description/Special Instructions: “Championing Change: Redefining Support Systems for Individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in the Context of Domestic Violence Experiences” is a training program addressing the intersection of IDD and domestic violence. Through real-life examples, participants learn about the unique challenges faced by individuals with IDD, including communication barriers and reliance on caregivers. The training focuses on empowering participants to advocate for support systems that promote safety and inclusion, covering available services, reporting procedures, and legal and ethical considerations. Ultimately, the program aims to inspire collective action to create a safer environment for individuals with IDD experiencing domestic violence. Participants are eligible for up to 2 Social Work CEUs
