There are several homeless shelters in Cincinnati. Some assist families and others assist single adults experiencing homelessness. But if you need help, there’s no need to contact all of them.

Family Shelters
Bethany House Services operates the largest family shelter in Greater Cincinnati. Their facility can serve up to 43 families at a time. And it opened in 2022 in Bond Hill.
Additionally, Found House Interfaith Housing Network operates a family shelter. They serve nearly 400 families a year across all of their programs. Found House Interfaith Housing Network also operates Greater Cincinnati’s only Pet Program. Their Pet Program temporarily shelters pets (cats, dogs, and other pets) while their owners are staying in a local shelter or in transition.
YWCA Greater Cincinnati offers shelter to people fleeing intimate partner violence. For those who need immediate assistance with crisis intervention, they can call their Domestic Violence Hotline. Their shelters serve over 500 people annually.
Shelters for Single Adults
In 2008 Strategies to End Homelessness brought together stakeholders and developed a plan to address homelessness for individuals. The result was the Homeless to Homes Plan. The following shelters are an integral part of the Homeless to Homes Plan. And they operate the new shelters that were built as part of the plan. Additionally, each homeless shelter has an on-site clinic with healthcare professionals.
City Gospel Mission operates a faith-based emergency shelter with 64 beds.
Another local shelter is Lighthouse Youth & Family Services. They have a 36-bed shelter for men and women ages 18-24.
Additionally, Shelterhouse operates the largest shelter for single men in Greater Cincinnati. The David and Rebecca Barron Center for Men has 150 beds. In the winter, they operate the Winter Shelter. It welcomes people overnight during the coldest part of the year. They also operate the Esther Marie Hatton Center for Women, a 75-bed facility.
Finally, Talbert House operates a transitional housing facility for men and women with 51 beds. Additionally, the facility offers substance abuse treatment.
Kentucky Homeless Shelters
Northern Kentucky is just across the Ohio River from Cincinnati. And the largest emergency homeless shelter in Northern Kentucky is the Emergency Shelter of Northern Kentucky. Their facility in Covington, Kentucky has 68 beds. For information about their shelter click here.
